The journey Begins

Day 1: Fly into Hobart

Arrive in Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania, to check into your beautiful boutique hotel before the adventure begins. We recommend visiting MONA – The Museum of Old and New Art to be immersed in the captivating world of art and culture. Nestled along the picturesque Berriedale Peninsula, MONA promises a truly unique and thought-provoking experience. This architectural marvel beckons you to explore its underground galleries, where an eclectic collection spanning ancient artifacts to contemporary masterpieces awaits. Unlike traditional museums, MONA embraces innovation with its "O" device, providing interactive insights into each artwork. Let the immersive atmosphere and stunning waterfront views transport you as you discover the fascinating intersections of human expression.

Day 2: Tahune Airwalk

Drive approximately 1.5 hours Southwest from Hobart to the Tahune Airwalk and ascend into the canopy on this 600m-long elevated walkway high above the forest floor. Home to the tallest tree in all of Tasmania, standing at 100.5m (about 329.72 ft) you’ll be in awe looking up at the sheer massiveness of it. Included in this experience is a Huan Pine walk along the river’s edge where you will learn about the life cycle of these valuable trees. From young Huon pine seedlings along the riverbank to those that are up to 360-400 years old, this is an amazing walk back in time. These rare and unique trees can live more than 3000 years old. End the tour on the Swinging Bridges in the historic McKay’s Track that is nestled alongside the Huan and Picton Rivers. Along the way, you will pass the ruins of the 1870’s home occupied by Police Constable Francis McPartlan, a former Irish convict who was responsible for walking McKay’s track to check timber licenses.

Day 3: Tasmania Wildlife Tour

In the morning, embark on a short drive to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary for an up-close encounter with Tasmanian Devils, Wombats, Quolls, and more native Australian animals. Hand-feed the gentle Tasmanian kangaroos for a delightful experience. The dedicated wildlife care team contributes significantly to native wildlife research and protection in Tasmania. Continue the journey through the charming Derwent Valley, adorned with orchards and hop fields, and showcasing historical landmarks. Proceed to Mount Field National Park, one of the state's oldest. Immerse yourself in the lush green forest canopy, catching glimpses of some of the world's tallest flowering trees. Experience the awe of Russell Falls after a short rainforest stroll.

Day 4: Curringa Farms - Cabins and Farm Tour

Drive approximately 1 hour to the Curringa Farms where you will stay for the next few days. Curringa Farms is home to beautiful cabins in natural bushland, overlooking picturesque Lake Meadowbank. Learn how to shear a sheep or watch working farm dogs in action in a 4-hour Farm tour and then end your time with a delicious Australian BBQ lunch. The farm is a fantastic luxurious getaway for those looking to relax in beautiful Tasmania and a great home base to explore the adventurous side of Tasmania.
Day 5: Queenstown

In the morning, depart on a 2.5-hour drive to Queenstown to catch the Westcoast Wilderness Railway for an adventure through a remote rainforest. Take a heritage steam train into the incredible King River Gorge, turning at Dubbil Barril before returning to Queenstown. This 4-hour journey will get you up and close to wildlife for the opportunity to take those magical photos with access to an open Balcony. Enjoy sparkling wine, canapes and complimentary beverages before a light lunch at the Tasmanian Tasting Tower.
Day 6: Tasmania Devils at Cradle Mountain

Come and explore the mysterious world of the Tasmanian devil at Devils@Cradle Tasmania's premier devil sanctuary - located just 500m from the entrance to the Cradle Mountain National Park boasting stunning views of Cradle Mountain. Wander at your leisure within this unique alpine conservation sanctuary which breeds Tasmania's three unique and threatened carnivorous marsupials; the Tasmanian devil along with the Spotted-tail and Eastern quoll whilst learning about the conservation programs for these species.
Day 7: Fly out of Launceston, Tasmania

In the morning, drive approximately 2 hours to the city of Launceston to catch your departing flight home.

Yes, it is possible to book triple share accommodations on select trips. Please inquire about this option, as pricing may also vary and it will be subject to availability.

Tour Questions

Our tours are suitable for all age demographics. The average age of travelers is typically 45+

There are options for single travelers to join most tours. Solo Travelers can choose to pay the single supplement and have their own room throughout the tour. For those willing to share, we also have a Twin Share option that is offered for the majority of our tours. This means you will be sharing the hotel rooms with another single, same gender traveller who also books the Twin Share option. If this is the case, there will be no single supplement charged to either of you. If we are unable to match you with another Twin Share traveler, there may be a single surcharge applied to cover the full cost of the rooms on some of our longer tours. Please enquire before finalizing your booking for full details.

This tour has a low level of physical demand, although there may be some activities or sightseeing tours that require walking short distances. Please inquire if you have any mobility restrictions before completing your booking to ensure this tour is right for you.

Each passenger may bring one large suitcase and one carry-on bag. The weight limit for this suitcase is 32 kilograms/60 pounds. Baggage handling is provided at the hotels in our tour packages. Please advise our reservations staff if you will be bringing additional items such as a cane, walker or wheelchair. You may also bring one small soft-sided carry-on bag, which should easily fit into the overhead shelf of the coach. Each person is responsible for his/her own carryon luggage. Remember to check your airline baggage restrictions if you are flying, as they may differ from Anderson Vacations Tours guidelines.

The suggested allowance for non-included meals is $40.00 — $60.00 CAD per day (includes tipping).

Yes! There are many meals included on our fully escorted tours. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking so we can ensure there are alternative meal choices and arrangements made for you.

For your convenience, gratuities for local guides and meals stated on the itinerary are included in the price of the tour. For meals not included in your tour package please remember that it is customary to tip your server 15-20% in North America. Gratuities for your Motorcoach Driver and Tour Director are left to your discretion. We recommend $4.00 - $5.00 CAD per person, per day for your Motorcoach Driver and $6.00 - $7.00 CAD per person, per day for your Tour Director. if you can't find your
